  1. To provide standards of service to the residents of the City, which are consistent with Council policies and the requirements of relevant status regulations and By-Laws.

  2. To promote good public relation and a favourable image of the Council in all contacts with the public and outside authorities and organizations.

  3. To develop and maintain a fully effective organization of thoroughly trained personnel who will discharge their responsibilities enthusiastically in return for a just income and the opportunity to find an outlet for their talents and energies.

  4. To assist Council to determine policies which are in the best interest of the City and to ensure that the decisions of Council and its Committees are effected.

  5. To cooperate and coordinate with other internal divisions to the best interests of the Council and the City.

  6. To ensure that costs are kept to a minimum consistent with the efficient discharge of their responsibilities through the maximum utilization of the resources at their disposal.

  7. To be active in seeking the improvements in methods, technology innovation and to keep abreast of the best and latest practices.

  8. To work in a safe manner and report all unsafe practices and conditions where the safety, health and welfare of the public or fellow workers may be affected.

  9. To project a pleasant and cooperative attitude in all contacts with fellow staff members.
